Philippines is again sending the largest and newest ship at high speed to Denmark | Fjord FSTR
Austal Philippines has launched the 115-metre, high speed vehicle-passenger ferry Express 5, for Molslinjen of Denmark, utilising a new vessel transportation system designed by Austal.
The ‘Auto Express 115’ high-speed catamaran ferry is the largest ferry (by volume) constructed by an Austal shipyard and was securely transported onto Austal Philippines’ floating dock by a new, rail-based system called ‘ANTS’, featuring self-drive trollies with variable geometry to suit any hull configuration.
Austal Limited Chief Executive Officer Paddy Gregg said the successful launch of the Company’s largest commercial ferry build, utilising Austal’s new ‘ANTS’ vessel transportation system, demonstrated both capability and innovation.
“The launch of Express 5 is a genuine milestone on a number of levels, as the largest ferry ever constructed by an Austal shipyard; and the first to be launched using our proprietary new vessel transport system,” Mr Gregg said.
“The Austal Nautical Transportation System (ANTS) allows us to move any large vessel safely, securely, and efficiently – monohull, catamaran or trimaran - at a fraction of the cost of traditional mobile transporters.
“Congratulations to the Austal Philippines team, who have not only successfully constructed and launched Express 5 but designed and developed a new vessel transport system to improve efficiency, reduce costs and enhance operations, for the benefit of our customer.
“Our congratulations also to Molslinjen, whom I know are just as excited as us to see this impressive new ferry in the water, with sea trials commencing soon,” Mr Gregg concluded.
Austal Philippines President Wayne Murray said the launch of Express 5 demonstrated the ingenuity and dedication of the local team – and the shipyard’s capability to deliver large, world class ships, cost effectively.
“I am so proud of the Austal Philippines team who have constructed this impressive new high-speed ferry - the largest ever built by any Austal shipyard – and developed an innovative new transportation system that improves shipbuilding operations and reduces costs,” Mr Murray said.
Express 5 has the capacity for 1,610 passengers, space for 450 cars (or 617 lane metres for trucks plus 257 cars) over 2 vehicle decks and an operating service speed of 37 knots. It is powered by an LNG-capable, medium-speed power plant that offers a powerful yet economic and environmentally friendly solution. On board, passengers will enjoy leather appointed reclining seats with USB ports, Wi-Fi, a full bistro and bar(s), a children’s play area and multiple audio-visual screens.
The sleek looking 115-metre catamaran was designed by the same Austal Australia team who developed the original, signature raked-bow hull for Molslinjen’s Express 4 (delivered in 2019); and includes Austal’s proprietary Motion Control and MARINELINK-Smart systems that help deliver a smoother journey for passengers and crew and a more efficient, better performing, ‘smart’ ship for operators.
Following final fit-out of the vessel alongside at Austal Philippines, Express 5 is scheduled for delivery early in the first quarter of CY2023.

FINALLY! We finally get to bring you a Yacht Tour of another HORIZON YACHT Model. We were lucky enough to "kidnap" Elise for this Tour (she is one of my personal role models in the world of Yachting because she really knows her stuff:). So, Meet HORIZON FD92 SUPERYACHT: she is voluminous, beamy, and "beefy" lol I'm a huge fan of Horizon Designs and pick up a bunch of features for our NBB List every time we get a chance to Tour one. At the time of filming, she was listed for sale for $10M, but as you can imagine she got snatched up pretty fast.

As we thought we might have seen it all, this Fully Aluminium ST BARTH 75 Beauty has completely blown us away during its World Premiere!!! at the Cannes Yachting Festival. This purposed-build was designed by a couple, who enjoy yachting with their family and simply could not find what they wanted on the Market. I asked them to give me their short NBBL and boy! it was very different from ours. But I was literally taking photos and adding items to our New Boat Build List as we went along - what an inspiration this tour was! Frank and Danielle really thought outside of the box and should be so proud of their creation. My personal Favs: the warm and welcoming styling, the beautiful lighting everywhere, the unique choice of a dishwasher (yes, I can't believe I haven't thought of this myself!), the SUPER unique 😝 layout, the Spa view from the master, the sinks and OMG the BOW! One of the best BOWS I have ever seen on a Yacht under 100ft. I absolutely LOVED it! Rico definitely geeked out over the Garage, the Engine compartment, and the Unique Anchor system. What a Unique and Custom Yacht all around. 🙌🏻 Starting price for this yacht is $6M+ Enjoy the Yacht Tour

Join us on this Private and Extra Special Treat of a Tour with The ALLSEAS YACHTS Builder himself - Tim Alls. This Tour was waaaay too cool to chop it up into a short video, so it's the very first Tour on our Channel to Premiere as a TWO-PART Tour.
Where do I begin... This was hands down one of my fav Guided Tours to date. ALLSEAS 92 is pretty incredible... I have never been the person who wanted to Sail Around the World, but being onboard this REAL DEAL Explorer Yacht definitely got me thinking :-) What a Luxury Tank on the water! The exterior Decks are massive, and spacious, but you feel very protected at the same time, The Cockpit is a fantastic use of space, The Pilothouse is the largest I have seen on the Yacht of similar size, and the Galley... OMG, that Galley stole my heart! The Guest Cabins, The crew quarters... fantastic! The Engine room has definitely stolen Rico's heart (and for all of your tech & mechanical Geeks you are in for a treat!)... and what about the Master?! Well, just wait and see... one of my personal fav bathrooms... or shell I say Spa-Like Head?!... just going to leave you with that! lol
We are super excited to show you this beautiful "Lady" and all she has to offer! She would make a great Liveaboard or/ and a World Cruiser... yes, you will definitely enjoy her as a second house on the water or a weekend luxury home, but boy, she was born to Cruise!
