Women and Men
Women and men—what is it all about? I believe that the Supreme Being created women and intended their desires to be directed toward men,
partly due to the actions of Eve in the Garden of Eden.
Throughout history, women have often been viewed as the property of men. During the Roman Empire, men held the power to control women to the
extent that they could even kill them if they wished. Then came English Common Law, which further solidified men's control over women in marriage.
A husband had authority over his wife’s life, including her daily activities and possessions. If a woman had any dowry before marriage, that would be
the only asset she could retain in the event of a divorce.
Throughout our existence, there has been a struggle between men and women over who should submit to whom and who holds authority.
But is the existence of men and women based on love, or is it a consequence of women’s desire for men because of Eve’s early mistake? Love and
desire, while both powerful concepts are not synonymous.
To love someone means to have an emotional attachment to that person. This could manifest in feelings of joy, sorrow, hate, fear, and more.
You have a deep commitment and emotional connection to that individual. In contrast, to desire someone means you wish for or request that person’s
presence.
However, does this desire equate to love? When you wish for something, it doesn’t imply a strong emotional attachment—it’s a longing that might or might
not come to fruition. If that wish goes unfulfilled, it might not sting too much because there’s little emotional investment involved.
On the other hand, loving someone involves emotional commitment. You will likely feel tremendous joy or sorrow based on your relationship with that person.
I believe we all yearn to be loved or desired by someone. Seeking love or desire is inherent to being human. However, it is essential to distinguish which of these
emotions are worthy of your acceptance—love or desire.
Many people confuse these two concepts, which cause significant issues in relationships. Individuals often search for love but misinterpret the attention or
advances of others as desire.
Love and desire are powerful emotions that must be clearly defined before entering a relationship. Identifying your intentions can save you from a lifetime of
pain and heartache.
