Sleep does it sound good to you? What is sleep, or should we sleep when we are dead?

Ah sleep after a long day of work or play and your body is tired from your mental or physical activity you just want to get some sleep or rest to recover. Sleep is all you could think about what a great activity or whether no activity at all because it’s sleep. People have different feelings regarding sleep, some think that you need eight hours of sleep and then there are others who believe that a good four to six hours of sleep is enough and you should be well rested to push forward throughout another day or night of activity.

First, let us define what is sleep? How much sleep does the body need? What are the different types of sleep does the body goes through when you are trying to sleep? Sleep is when your body, mind, and soul for a period of time relaxes must of its muscles, with your eyes closed and your consciousness is somewhat in no animation. You are motionless for a period of hours.

How much sleep does the body need to function at its pristine level for any work can be accomplished? The right amount of sleep for each individual can be a tricky proposition because each and every one of us is built different physically. So of us believe that they only need 4 to 6 hours sleep per night. Then there are others who believe that they need 8 hours or more to be ready for a day’s work. Is there any right or wrong as to how much sleep one person determines for himself or herself? There are companies who determine how much sleep we should get and they separate how many hours by the age of the person.

People always say that I have to get more sleep, but we never do, because we think that we are going to miss something exciting if we are sleeping. What about sleep that makes it very important activity to take advantage of? There are five different levels of sleep and which sleep should we all take. The National Sleep Foundation @ (sleepfoundation.org) gives their recommendations regarding how much sleep each age group should have on a given night and they are as follows;

  • 1. Sleep range widened by one hour to 11-14 hours (previously it was 12-14)
  • 2. Preschoolers (3-5): Sleep range widened by one hour to 10-13 hours (previously it was 11-13)
  • 3. School-age children (6-13): Sleep range widened by one hour to 9-11 hours (previously it was 10-11)
  • 4. Teenagers (14-17): Sleep range widened by one hour to 8-10 hours (previously it was 8.5-9.5)
